Dr. Teresa Murphy Leaving Pike Market Clinic In Seattle -Transgender Health Care News

Dr. Teresa Murphy worked at Pike Market Medical Clinic in Seattle Washington for about eighteen years and left early this summer. She is hopefully going to begin practicing at Pacific Medicine (Pac-Med) in the fall. She said she hoped to keep her emphasis on working with the Transgender community.

I began seeing Teresa in 2004 when I admitted I was Transgender and began this journey into new chapters of my life as a woman. I never recieved anything but compassionate, professional and high quality care. I did not always recieve that from the other staff but Teresa and her nurse Kelly truly cared and care about each and every patient. It was not out of the ordinary for Teresa and Kelly to call and check on you if they had not heard from you in a while. It was not out of the oridnary for them to work in the middle of the night. They did it because they wanted so much to get it right with every person they helped.

If Teresa and Kelly do not end up treating me again when they move, at least I had the honor of having them care for me as long as I did. They are a true asset to the Transgender community in King, Snohomish and Pierce counties. Pike Market Medical Clinic is now part of Neighborhood Health Centers or Neighbor Cares in Seattle and beyond.

Pike Market Medical Clinic lost their best asset when Teresa left. When she left, so did hundreds of patients. I sincerely hope I have the honor of calling her my physician again.
